"You'll Never Eat Lunch in This Town Again"

  • Metropolitan Playhouse 220 East 4th Street New York, NY, 10009 United States (map)

Kelsey is directing the play “You’ll Never Eat Lunch in This Town Again”: Based on the Memoir by Julia Phillips at the Metropolitan Play House in association with NYC Fringe.

You'll Never Eat Lunch in this Town Again is a comedy/bio-play tracking the career of American film producer Julia Phillips, a major player in the New Hollywood movement of the 1970s. Responsible for getting made iconic films Taxi DriverThe Sting, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Julia was the first woman to win an Academy Award for Best Picture. Taking place over several lunches throughout her career, we witness the power games, debauchery, addiction, wheeling, dealing, and hubris that led to the eventual publishing of her explosive tell-all memoir.
